Approximately 10 minutes ago, my colleagues and I at NYCD saw several police cars pass by, so we could tell there was something brewing. We could see Bono about 2 blocks north of our 2nd floor windows facing Seventh Avenue.

Since U2 just played on Saturday Night Live, it made sense that they would be in the city promoting their new album. We decided to run downstairs to see what was happening. By the time we got downstairs, the band was literally right in front of our office building at 350 Seventh Avenue (between 29th and 30th Streets)!

Luckily, a miniDV camera was nearby and all ready to go! This clip of their performance shows the excitement of the people in the streets as well as the cool setup that the band was using. You will see it just as we saw it !!!

U2's new album hits stores worldwide tomorrow. They were apparently scheduled for a free show/taping in Brooklyn later in the afternoon. They warmed up by playing through the Manhattan streets on the back of the flatbed truck.

Enjoy!
